Recycling Options

Waterloo Public Works encourages residents to watch for a mailing from the Sanitation Department regarding the new curbside recycling program and take action immediately. The mailing includes a postcard for residents to indicate the desired level of curbside services they wish to receive. The card should be returned to the city by November 1, 2019. If a response card is not received by the city, the current level services will continue.

Effective December 1, 2019 Republic Services will be the single vendor for the collection of
residential curbside recycling. Republic Services will pick up recycling twice per month
curbside recycling collection!

The City will continue to collect your weekly refuse and yard waste containers on the
seasonal schedule. The City will continue to maintain the satellite yard waste and
recycling sites that are currently available to Waterloo residents.
The updated fee changes for single-family residential will be as follows on your
January 2020 Water Works billing:

$5.00 monthly yard waste and recycling drop off sites maintenance fee
$4.00 monthly fee for voluntary curbside yard waste and/or recycling collection
Regular Refuse rate:
Small (32gal) $10.00
Medium (64gal) $11.75
Large (96gal) $17.75

If you do not want any changes to your current recycling services, there is no action
required. If you choose to change and/or add to your current recycling service, please mark
the appropriate boxes on the enclosed pre-addressed postcard and then mail it in.
