Case Resolutions

Case Resolutions refer to eventual outcome of alleged discrimination cases.

Administrative Closures

Transfer to ICRC/EEOC: A case is transferred to the Iowa Civil Rights Commission or Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for processing. This would occur either at the request of the parties or due to a potential conflict with the WHRC.

Complaint Withdrawal: The complainant withdraws an alleged complaint of discrimination.

Administrative Release (Right to Sue): At least 60 days after filing, a Complainant has requested to pursue his or her complaint of discrimination in court.

Negotiated Agreements

Satisfactory Adjustment: Parties have resolved the issue on their own prior to an investigation.

Successful Mediation: An agreement has been reached between parties with the assistance of a contracted mediator, prior to an investigation.

Successful Conciliation: Both parties have reached an agreement after a finding of Probable Cause.

No Probable Cause

Information collected through the investigation yielded insufficient evidence to support a charge of discrimination.

Probable Cause

Information collected through the investigation yielded sufficient evidence to support a charge of discrimination.
