Respiratory Protection Program |
Program Manager:   Tony McGraneThe Waterloo Fire Rescue Respiratory Protection Program insures that breathing apparatus used by its members meets or exceeds the minimum standards established by the American National Standards Practices for Respiratory Protection for the Fire Service as set forth in ANSI Z88.5 (1977).The Respiratory Protection Program Manager and two other MSA Level 3 technicians perform all repairs and periodic inspections including an annual flow test on approximately 60 MSA breathing apparatus. They also inspect, maintain and ensure updated hydrostatic tests on 120 air cylinders. The Respiratory Protection Program also maintains a MAKO BAM 08E3 compressor and cascade system located at Fire Headquarters and a MAKO model 4500 compressor and cascade system located at the Regional Training Center. This includes all routine maintenance and air sampling.
