Position Summary:
This position serves as part of the operations team for the Waterloo Municipal Communications Utility, DBA, Waterloo Fiber, an Internet Service Provider (ISP), and reports to the Customer Support Manager.

The Direct Sales Intern acts as a first point contact for residential clients wishing to sign up for services through Waterloo Fiber. The direct sales intern is responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all products, procedures, and special customer incentives and/or programs.
Employees with Waterloo Fiber are required to work within the framework of governing federal, state, and local laws and policies. The position exercises latitude and independence in the performance of assigned projects and tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promote and comply with Waterloo Fiber’s values - honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Promote Waterloo Fiber products and services over the telephone, to walk-in customers, through door-to-door campaigns, and various other marketing campaigns.
  • Responsible for achieving KPIs as defined by the Customer Support Manager.
  • Responsible for performing other tasks as required to assist the company in carrying out its customer service mission, goals, and objectives, as circumstances may dictate.

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Currently enrolled in a secondary education institution
Certification(s)/License(s):
  • Must have and maintain a valid Iowa Driver’s license and meet Waterloo Fiber’s insurability requirements.
