Patrick Morrissey

morrisseyPatrick Morrissey was born and raised in Waterloo. He has resided in Waterloo for over 60 years nearly 40 of those in the Church Row Historic Neighborhood area. He is a 1967 graduate of Columbus High and 1974 graduate of UNI. He retired from nearly 35 years of work with the state of Iowa in June of 2010. Most of that time (30 years) was as a Child and Dependent Adult Investigator. He currently serves on the Boards of the Cedar Valley Bicycle Collective and the Friends of the Gilbertville Depot. He is Married to Heidi Hoff. He has 3 children, 3 step-children, and 4 grandchildren. He is a member of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, ACLU, Grout Museum District, Cedar Valley Cyclists, Cedar Trails Partnership, and the Nature Conservancy, among others. He believes in Historic Preservation and the revitalizing of downtown Waterloo. Although not a natural musician, he has begun to play the Bagpipes, wear kilts and enjoy his and most Irish lore, fests, music, and traditions
