
The Waterloo Center for the Arts holds an outstanding collection of Midwest Art, American Decorative Arts, International Folk Art, including a significant collection of Mexican Folk Art, and the worlds’ largest public collection of Haitian Art. Selections from our collection are always on display. We also feature changing exhibits in galleries throughout the building. Admission to exhibitions is always FREE.
A cultural hub within the City of Waterloo, the Waterloo Center for the Arts presents a multitude of events from live music concerts, film series and performance art to community events and festivals. Additionally, the Center is houses to Waterloo Community Playhouse, Black Hawk Children’s Theatre, Waterloo Municipal Band, and World’s Window, “A Store With a Purpose”.
The Waterloo Center for the Arts also offers a robust slate of art classes and workshops that are designed for kids, families, teens and adults at all levels of experience. Instruction is offered in drawing, painting, pottery, jewelry making, digital arts, and so much more!
Located on the banks of the scenic Cedar River in downtown Waterloo, the Waterloo Center for the Arts provides a beautiful setting for your wedding, professional meeting, or other event. In addition to rooms within our facility, we offer use of the stunning RiverLoop Amphitheatre, spacious RiverLoop Expo Plaza and the charming and nicely outfitted Waterloo Boat House which boast stunning riverside views.
Integrated within the Waterloo Center for the Arts, the Phelps Youth Pavilion is a children’s museum filled with creative, hands-on experiences, from simple drawing and painting projects to magical high-tech adventures. With over 40 interactive exhibits, learning about art and culture has never been so much fun! The Phelps Youth Pavilion is where Art launches a world of wonder, discovery & learning!

The Waterloo Center for the Arts operates under the auspices of the Waterloo Cultural and Arts Commission, the Center and its programs reflect the City's commitment to and support of arts and culture.
