Cedar Valley Recreational Trails
Over 80 miles of hard-surfaced recreational trails that wind through wooded areas, along lakes, downtown areas, and along the beautiful Cedar River.

Cedar Valley Arboretum and Botanic Gardens

Recreational, cultural and educational opportunities abound at this developing 74-acre site. The gardens showcase a variety of plants and trees native to this area. Open Monday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm, May - Mid October.

Hartman Reserve Nature Center

295-acre nature area featuring lakes, valleys, prairie, and open meadow, all teaming with wildlife. The Hartman Interpretive Center is on a bluff above the Cedar River and linked to the forest by a 6-mile web of trails. The Trail Team, an open-air trailer pulled by a tractor, makes some of the trails handicapped accessible. Interpretive Center open year round Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm; Sunday, Labor Day to Memorial Day, 1 - 5pm. The trail system is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
