February 24, 2017 The Leisure Services department is once again participating in the Plant Some Shade program with MidAmerican Energy and the Iowa DNR. Through this program, MidAmerican customers that live in the state of Iowa are eligible to purchase one or two trees at $30 per tree. Please review all the details on the tree order form (PDF).

February 24, 2017 The Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission will be partnering with the City of Waterloo to sponsor the Spring Electronics Recycling and Household Hazardous Materials Disposal Drop-off Event. This event is open to all Black Hawk County residents to recycle old electric and electronic devices (certain fees apply), as well as dispose of toxic substances from their homes and garages. January 19, 2017 Today The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) announced the winners of the 2017 Childhood Obesity Prevention Awards during the organization’s 85th Winter Meeting in Washington, DC. The awards went to cities with outstanding programs that encourage healthy weight through balanced diet choices and regular physical activity.
