3rd Annual Pump and Run

CEDAR VALLEY SPORTSPLEX TO HOLD THIRD ANNUAL PUMP AND RUN
Mayor Quentin Hart Inviting Community to Join Him in Participating!

The Cedar Valley SportsPlex Pump-N-Run 5K is back for a third year Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, 2024. Mayor Quentin Hart will be taking part again this year and is challenging community members of all ages to join him!

No photo description available. Here’s how it works. Participants do bench press and bicep curls using a percentage of their body weight on Friday to earn a reduction in their 5K time on Saturday. For every weight repetition completed, ten seconds will be taken off the 5K time. Don’t want to pump? You can still participate without a reduction in time!

In addition, one of the largest health expos in Iowa will be held Friday, April 26 from 3-6pm also at the SportsPlex. This event is designed to highlight downtown Waterloo and all the healthy resources that the Cedar Valley offers, plus encourage people to get out and move.

The free public health expo Friday during the pump portion includes race packet pickup. All the money raised from this event will go towards helping offer healthy outreach programs for Waterloo Schools and the Boys & Girls Club of the Cedar Valley.

NEW this year is a FREE KIDS RUN! Kids 12 and under will be able to participate in either the 1-mile or the 5K at no cost. Pump opportunities are also available Saturday morning from 7-8am.
